GÉANT Audit and Risk Advisory Committee (ARAC) Member
GÉANT is seeking an experienced finance professional to join its Audit and Risk Advisory Committee (ARAC) from 1 January 2027.
One of the Audit and Risk Advisory Committee’s current members will reach the end of their term on 31 December 2026. We are seeking an experienced finance professional to join the Committee from 1 January 2027.
The ARAC advises the GÉANT Board of Directors on the adequacy and effectiveness of the Association’s financial reporting, governance, risk and control frameworks.
We are looking for someone with:
- At least five years’ experience in a senior finance and control role, such as CFO, Head of Finance or equivalent, with direct reporting lines to board or executive level
- Experience gained within an international or multinational organisation
- Strong understanding of the full scope of external audit, including financial reporting and controls, IT-related audit aspects, compliance and risk considerations, and awareness of emerging technology-related risks such as cybersecurity and AI
- Experience in financial risk identification and management
- A strong knowledge of the English language
- Clear and effective communication skills
- The ability to formulate clear recommendations, not just analyses

Experience as a supervisory board member and/or Audit Committee member, within a not-for-profit or public-interest environment, or with the EC funding environment would be preferred but is not required.

The Commitment
Approximately five ARAC meetings per year, typically three virtual meetings and two in-person meetings, scheduled between 10:00–16:00 CET.
Other ARAC members should be appointed on an initial 3-year tenure term, with total tenure limited to nine years.
