Wyre Council is looking to recruit an Independent Member who will join the council’s Audit and Standards Committee.
About the Role
The Committee’s Terms of Reference can be found in the Council’s Constitution which is published on our website.
As an Independent Member you will play an important role in enhancing the skills, experience and knowledge of the Audit and Standards Committee and supporting it to continue as a cornerstone of our governance and assurance framework.
Responsibilities
- The Committee may be required to meet up to five times a year at the Civic Centre in Poulton-le-Fylde.
- The term of office will be until 31 March 2028.

Requirements
- These are voluntary positions; however, appointed members will be issued with a council device allowing them to access all on-line papers and are also able to claim mileage and other reasonable out-of-pocket expenses.
- Anyone interested in this role must submit an application to the council demonstrating how you meet the essential and desirable criteria.
- The successful applicants will be recommended for approval by the Full Council, following which full training will be provided before your first meeting.

Eligibility
The appointment is not open to any person who has been an Elected Member, Parish Councillor or officer of Wyre Council within the last five years or a person who is a relative or close friend of an Elected Member or Officer of Wyre Council.
