The Role

As an Audit Assistant Manager, you will oversee audit engagements, bridging the gap between seniors and managers by reviewing work, resolving complex issues, and managing team performance. You will liaise with clients, ensure compliance with standards, and contribute to audit planning and reporting. Your role ensures high-quality audits and supports the development of junior staff. We are looking for someone with experience in the not-for-profit sector to support our growth in this area.

  • Ensures assignments are diarised and delivered in line with client deadlines and expectations.
  • Introduction to fee conversations with clients, with the support of senior management.
  • Ensures up-to-date engagement terms are in place for all active client services, and revises accordingly for any changes in scope or service lines as and when changes arise.
  • Develops a clear understanding of clients’ business, challenges, and risks sufficiently to brief more junior colleagues.
  • Identifies variations to initial engagement scope at an early stage of an assignment and proposes approach and ad-hoc fees for any additional work for director/partner approval, so that full value can be recognised.
  • Demonstrates opportunities to develop value-added services for the client.
  • Provides feedback to clients on progress and outcomes of jobs.
  • Holds clients to account on the quality and timeliness of agreed deliverables.

Technical Excellence

  • Has a sound knowledge of technical and professional standards, and can draw on this to enlighten colleagues and clients in specific and relevant areas.
  • Confident in training others in technical knowledge.
  • Able to develop bid and pricing proposals for non-complex work.

Commitment

  • Undertakes line management responsibilities including performance reviews of appropriate junior colleagues.
  • Supporting junior colleagues in developing action plans based on feedback received.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
