AUDIT ASSISTANT MANAGER
BLACKBURN (HYBRID)
£45,000-£55,000 + GREAT BENEFITS
THE OPPORTUNITY
Get Recruited is partnering with an established and growing accountancy practice that is looking to bring on board an Audit Assistant Manager.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified or recently qualified accountant who is ready to take greater responsibility for managing audit assignments, reviewing junior colleagues' work and developing strong client relationships.
Working closely with Audit Managers and Responsible Individuals, you will manage a varied portfolio of audit engagements from planning through to completion. The position offers broad client exposure and a clear route towards Audit Manager level.
THE AUDIT ASSISTANT MANAGER ROLE
- Manage audit assignments from the initial planning stage through to completion.
- Prepare audit plans, identify key risks and develop suitable testing strategies.
- Coordinate audit fieldwork, ensuring assignments are completed accurately, on time and within budget.
- Review audit files and work prepared by junior and part-qualified colleagues.
- Identify accounting, control and compliance issues, escalating significant matters where appropriate.
- Prepare clear audit findings and practical recommendations for clients.
- Work closely with Audit Managers and Responsible Individuals to resolve technical queries.
- Act as a key point of contact for clients throughout each assignment.
- Prepare and review statutory financial statements under UK GAAP and FRS 102.
- Support corporation tax computations and related compliance work where required.
- Supervise, coach and develop junior members of the audit team.
- Assist with allocating assignments and monitoring team workloads.
- Contribute to improvements across audit processes, systems and working practices.
- Maintain current knowledge of auditing standards, accounting requirements and regulatory developments.

THE PERSON
- ACA or ACCA qualified, although strong finalists will also be considered.
- Previous audit experience gained within a UK accountancy practice.
- Experience leading or managing audit assignments from planning through to completion.
- Good knowledge of UK GAAP, FRS 102 and International Standards on Auditing.
- Experience preparing or reviewing statutory financial statements.
- Previous responsibility for reviewing work and supporting junior colleagues.
- Confident dealing directly with clients, business owners and senior stakeholders.
