Our client is a highly respected and well-established accountancy firm with a strong presence across the South of England. Known for delivering exceptional client service and building long-standing relationships with businesses throughout the region, they are now seeking an experienced Audit Director to join their senior leadership team. This opportunity is ideal for a driven professional looking to take ownership of a significant client portfolio, support the growth of ambitious businesses, and play a key role in developing both people and services.

Responsibilities

As an Audit Director, you will:

  • Lead a portfolio of SME audit clients across a diverse range of sectors throughout the South West.
  • Oversee the end-to-end audit process, including planning, budgeting, resource allocation, and successful delivery.
  • Act as a trusted adviser to owner-managed businesses and entrepreneurial clients, providing both commercial and strategic guidance.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring the highest standards of service and client satisfaction.
  • Identify and assess complex business challenges, highlighting key risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Contribute to the continued growth and success of the firm through leadership, business development, and service excellence initiatives.

  • ACA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP.
  • Extensive experience leading audits for clients across a variety of industries.
  • A proven ability to manage substantial client portfolios and oversee multiple engagements simultaneously.
  • Strong leadership skills with a passion for coaching, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities, with a client-focused approach.
