The Role

We are now looking for an experienced Audit Manager to join our expanding Audit division. This is a key leadership role where you will manage a portfolio of audit clients, lead teams through complex assignments, and act as a trusted adviser to clients. You’ll provide clarity, structure and strong professional judgement, while helping to develop our people and contribute to the continued growth of the firm. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing technical delivery with leadership, client management and team development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of audit clients, ensuring delivery on time, within budget and to high technical standards
  • Lead audit engagements from planning through to completion, including review of audit files and coaching teams
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with clients and act as their main point of contact
  • Communicate progress, issues and key findings clearly to clients and senior leadership
  • Identify opportunities to add value and support wider firm services
  • Lead, mentor and develop junior team members, promoting a collaborative and high-performance culture
  • Maintain compliance with auditing standards, internal policies and quality requirements
  • Support business development, tenders, recruitment and departmental training initiatives

Skills & Experience

  • ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with strong post-qualification audit experience
  • Proven experience managing an audit portfolio within a professional practice
  • Strong technical knowledge of auditing standards and regulatory requirements
  • Confident leader with strong communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills
  • Able to operate independently, exercise sound judgement and remain composed under pressure
  • Collaborative, supportive and committed to developing people and contributing to team success
  • Proactive, solutions-focused and able to balance client delivery with team leadership
