As an Audit Manager
As an Audit Manager, you will play a key leadership role in managing a portfolio of clients within the Education sector. You will oversee audit engagements from planning through to completion, ensuring delivery to the highest professional standards while building strong client relationships.

A well-established and highly regarded accountancy firm with a strong reputation for delivering tailored audit, accounting, and advisory services to a diverse client base. With a particular strength in the Education sector, the firm partners with academies, multi-academy trusts (MATs), independent schools, and other not-for-profit organisations to provide high-quality, compliant, and value-adding audit services.
Description
Key Responsibilities of the Audit Manager:
- Managing and delivering external audit assignments for Education clients, including academies and MATs
- Leading audit engagements from planning through to completion and sign-off
- Reviewing audit work prepared by junior team members and providing guidance and mentorship
- Acting as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring excellent service delivery
- Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, audit regulations, and sector-specific requirements (e.g. ESFA guidance)
- Identifying opportunities to provide additional advisory services to clients
- Supporting the Partners in developing and growing the Education client portfolio
- Contributing to internal process improvements and team development initiatives

Profile
The successful candidate MUST have demonstrable experience within the Education sector and a strong technical audit background.

- Be ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
- Have significant audit experience within an accountancy practice
- Have proven experience auditing Education sector clients (essential)
- Possess strong knowledge of sector-specific regulations and reporting requirements
- Be confident managing multiple engagements and meeting deadlines
- Demonstrate excellent leadership, communication, and client-facing skills
- Have a proactive and commercial approach to client service
