Audit Manager (Experienced)

Mid-Tier Practice in Manchester

Salary: Up to £65,000 + benefits
Working pattern: 3–4 days per week onsite (Manchester office)

Cherry Professional is delighted to be working with a respected and well established mid-tier accountancy firm in Manchester to appoint an experienced Audit Manager for a hands-on, client-facing role. This position sits at the heart of the audit team: you’ll own a portfolio, lead multiple engagements at once, and manage and develop several teams through planning, fieldwork and completion.

The role

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Managing a portfolio of audit clients (planning through to finalisation and delivery)
  • Leading multiple audits concurrently, ensuring quality, deadlines and budgets are met
  • Providing hands-on technical input on complex areas and on-site delivery
  • Managing, coaching and reviewing the work of multiple teams (Seniors/Executives and trainees)
  • Acting as the key point of contact for clients, resolving issues and maintaining strong relationships
  • Supporting internal processes around risk, compliance, and audit methodology

What we’re looking for (non-negotiable)

  • Currently working as an Audit Manager in UK practice with demonstrable portfolio responsibility
  • Strong track record of running audits end-to-end and leading teams on-site
  • ACA / ACCA qualified
  • Confident communicator with a commercial, client-service mindset
  • Able to commit to 3–4 days per week in the Manchester office / on client site

  • Big 4 candidates will not be considered for this position, as Mid-Tier Client experience is a crucial requirement for this key role
  • Candidates not already operating at Audit Manager level will not be considered
