A leading independent firm of Accountants is expanding its presence across the North West with the opening of a brand-new Liverpool City Centre office. Established and highly respected within the regional market, the firm provides a comprehensive range of audit, accounting, tax and advisory services to a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses, SMEs and larger corporate clients.

This strategic investment in Liverpool reflects the firm's commitment to supporting its growing local client base, increasing its profile within the city, and attracting top accountancy talent. As part of this exciting growth phase, the firm is seeking an experienced Audit Manager to play a key role in the development and success of the new office.

Your new role

As Audit Manager, you will lead a varied portfolio of audit clients across a range of sectors, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality service and building strong, long-term client relationships.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a portfolio of audit clients from planning through to completion.
  • Leading and reviewing audit assignments, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting and auditing standards.
  • Providing commercial advice and value-added recommendations to clients.
  • Managing client relationships and acting as a trusted business advisor.
  • Supporting and mentoring junior team members, reviewing work and assisting with their ongoing development.
  • Collaborating with Partners and senior leadership on business development initiatives within the Liverpool market.
  • Contributing to the continued growth and establishment of the new Liverpool office.
  • Monitoring budgets, deadlines and overall project delivery.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will ideally:

  • Be ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent).
  • Have a strong background in audit gained within an accountancy practice environment.
  • Possess experience managing client portfolios and leading audit assignments.
  • Have excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership capabilities and experience coaching junior staff.
  • Be commercially minded with the ability to identify opportunities to add value for clients.
  • Have a proactive and ambitious approach, with an interest in contributing to the growth of a developing office location.
