Audit Manager - 7-Week Contract

Your new role

This is a short-term, seven-week contract covering a period of sickness leave within an established Internal Audit function. The organisation is looking for an experienced Audit Manager who can quickly understand its corporate governance and control framework, work confidently and guide stakeholders through the audit process.

An initial audit plan has already been written. However, it will need to be reviewed, challenged and redefined to ensure it is practical, appropriately scoped and aligned with the organisation's current risks and priorities. You will take ownership of developing the final audit approach, talking auditors through the process and putting a clear, deliverable audit plan in place.

The role requires someone who can establish credibility quickly, communicate effectively with senior stakeholders and provide structure during a short-term period of cover.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What you'll need to succeed

You will be an experienced Audit Manager with a strong understanding of corporate governance, risk and internal control frameworks.

You will be comfortable working directly with internal stakeholders, explaining the audit process and agreeing a clear approach, scope and timetable. Previous experience reviewing, refining and implementing audit plans will be particularly important.

You will need to be pragmatic, confident and able to work independently, with the ability to get up to speed quickly and deliver within a seven-week assignment. An understanding of audit automation and how technology can improve audit processes would be beneficial. However, the organisation is not looking for the advanced level of technical expertise outlined in the original job description. Strong audit fundamentals, stakeholder management and practical delivery experience are the main priorities.
