The Role

As a manager in our Payments Audit team you will be responsible for delivering audit and assurance support to our clients. You will help our clients navigate complex regulatory requirements and achieve their compliance goals. You will provide them with guidance, advice and valuable insight. You will work as part of a team and alongside senior consultants and under the supervision of trailblazers and experts in this industry. You will engage in a variety of projects across a diverse range of exciting and cutting-edge clients. You will have deep domain expertise within the payments industry, and will lead and develop junior colleagues, and contribute to the ongoing growth of an award-winning practice.

The role requires payments’ experts who challenge themselves in innovating and developing with our clients. We are looking for candidates who demonstrate initiative, diligence in their work and analysis, and have the drive to learn and bring fresh approaches and develop their knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Maximise the capabilities of the audit team in provision of regulatory services through the provision of line management, coaching, training and ongoing mentoring and feedback to develop individual team members.
  • Undertaking multiple compliance audits for clients and making appropriate recommendations which achieve regulatory compliance for the client.
  • Provide clear, pragmatic regulatory advice, maintaining strong knowledge of relevant rules, guidance and industry best practice to review and challenge clients’ governance, systems and controls, and support them in meeting regulatory expectations.
  • Keep abreast of advancements within the profession, legislation and regulation in the UK with a view of implementing changes to increase engagement efficiency, increased client scope, and to meet clients' needs and mandates.
  • Partnering with our client base to understand their business and support the design and implementation of their regulatory strategy.
  • Engage and network with prospective clients and represent fscom at industry relevant events and conferences.
  • Oversee and conduct onsite and remote activities to advise, assess, analyse and report in line with the engagement project requirements and using relevant frameworks and regulations.
  • Contribute to the growth of the Payments practice, identifying opportunities to expand client engagements, responding to inbound opportunities, and supporting proposals and business development activity.

Essential Criteria

  • 5+ years of key auditing experience in a similar industry and environment, across financial crime, information security, consumer duty and safeguarding.
  • A background in line management driving high performance and quality client delivery.
  • Practical understanding of compliance frameworks, industry best practice and the expectations of the FCA and other relevant bodies
  • Ability to deliver pragmatic and practical solutions to business problems
  • Ability to make complex requirements simple and approachable
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to think critically for building solutions for the company
  • Experience of influencing senior managers and persuading senior people to implement change
  • Effective communicator with a track record of succinct and clear writing and presentation skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • High degree of personal drive and motivation to succeed
  • Demonstrable project management skills and experience leading engagements
  • Evidence of business development and success in growing own client book.
