Audit Manager Role with a Top 25 Accountancy Firm Based Near Chatham

Client Details

Our client is a well-established accountancy practice based near Chatham. They have been running for many years and they have a stellar reputation in the market.

Description

Manage a portfolio of audit clients, leading engagements from initial planning through to successful completion.

  • Deliver audits efficiently and on schedule, ensuring compliance with relevant auditing standards, regulatory requirements, and firm policies.
  • Lead audit planning and completion meetings, while developing and empowering senior team members to assume greater responsibility.
  • Serve as the primary client contact, building and maintaining strong, long-term professional relationships.
  • Identify and escalate technical and commercial matters to the Responsible Individual (RI), recommending practical and effective solutions where appropriate.
  • Oversee audit resource allocation, proactively highlighting resourcing requirements and potential challenges to the RI.
  • Provide technical expertise, guidance, and support to audit team members throughout the audit lifecycle.
  • Review audit files and working papers to a consistently high standard prior to RI review.
  • Review statutory financial statements to ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and disclosure requirements.
  • Coach, mentor, and support the professional development of team members, delivering training and driving continuous improvement across the audit function.

A Successful Audit Manager Should Have

  • A professional qualification in accounting, such as ACA or ACCA.
  • Strong technical knowledge of auditing standards and practices.
  • Experience managing audit projects and leading teams.
  • Excellent communication and client management skills.
  • An analytical mindset with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and tools.
