Audit Manager – Hybrid / Manchester – £65,000

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Audit Manager to take a visible role in delivering high-quality audits, developing people and building strong client relationships within a forward-thinking and growing business.
The Role
Reporting to the Audit Senior Manager and RI, you’ll take ownership of a portfolio of audit clients, leading teams and ensuring high-quality delivery from planning through to completion.
You’ll be trusted to work independently, make sound professional judgements and provide clear, confident leadership to both clients and colleagues.
What You’ll Be Doing
Portfolio & Audit Delivery
- Manage a portfolio of audit clients with fees of up to £500k
- Lead audits from planning and fieldwork through to completion
- Ensure work meets ISA, quality and regulatory standards
- Manage budgets, WIP, billing and recoverability
- Identify and resolve issues proactively

Client Relationships
- Act as a key point of contact for clients
- Build trusted, long-term relationships
- Keep clients informed and provide a high level of service
- Identify opportunities to add value and introduce wider firm services
Leadership & Development
- Lead and motivate audit teams, creating a collaborative and supportive environment
- Delegate effectively and empower team members to take ownership
- Coach, develop and retain junior team members
- Hold regular feedback and development conversations
- Act as a positive role model for the firm’s values and standards
Quality, Compliance & Risk
- Review work and resolve issues ahead of Senior Manager/RI review
- Ensure client onboarding and offboarding meets ISQM 1, AML and firm requirements
- Escalate risks and issues appropriately and communicate clearly with leadership

Business Development
- Support tenders, pitches and business development activity
- Assist with recruitment and interviews
- Represent and promote the firm both internally and externally
What We’re Looking For
- ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
- 2+ years post-qualified experience
- 7+ years’ audit experience
- Experience working at Audit Manager level within professional practice
- Strong technical knowledge of auditing standards and regulatory requirements
- Proven experience managing an audit portfolio and building strong client relationships
- Confident people leader with strong communication, judgement and commercial awareness
