Audit Methodology Partner | Top 10 UK Firm
Audit is changing faster than at any point in the last 20 years. Regulatory scrutiny is higher, the AQR results are public, and AI is moving from pilot projects into the core of how audits are planned, executed and reviewed.
I’m working with a Top 10 UK firm to appoint a Partner who will lead that change from the centre.
The role
You’ll own the firm’s audit methodology and be responsible for making sure it is robust, practical, and fit for an audit practice that increasingly runs on data and AI.
- Lead the audit methodology function and set technical direction across the practice
- Embed changes from new and revised ISAs (UK) and ISQM (UK) 1 into methodology, guidance and tools
- Shape how AI and data analytics are used in the audit: risk assessment, testing, review and documentation
- Build governance around AI-enabled audit tools so they stand up to FRC and regulatory scrutiny
- Use AQR findings, internal inspection and root cause analysis to drive measurable improvements in audit quality
- Work with engagement leaders, Risk, Quality and Technology teams so methodology is adopted, not just published
- Act as a senior technical voice internally and with the regulator

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
