Your new company
This is a rare opportunity to join a highly respected and ambitious accountancy practice at a significant stage in its growth journey.
Recent investment into the firm's North West operations has created a clear and exciting growth strategy, with Manchester identified as a key location for future expansion. As part of these plans, the business is seeking an experienced Audit Director or Partner with Responsible Individual (RI) status to take a leading role in developing and growing the audit offering across the region.
The firm has built an outstanding reputation through long-standing client relationships, technical excellence, and a genuinely people-focused culture. Whilst benefiting from the backing, investment, and infrastructure of a larger group, local leadership remains central to strategic decision-making, allowing senior leaders the autonomy to shape the future direction of the business.
This appointment represents a genuine strategic hire and an opportunity to become one of the key figures responsible for driving growth, developing the team, and strengthening the firm's presence across the North West over the next 3-5 years.
Your new role
As Audit Director / Partner, you will work alongside the senior leadership team to shape and deliver the firm's ambitious growth plans whilst taking responsibility for the leadership and development of the audit service line.
This is far more than a technical compliance role. You will be a key ambassador for the business, helping to drive market presence, strengthen client relationships, recruit and develop talent, and contribute to the long-term strategic success of the firm.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
