Responsible Individual (RI) – Audit
Northampton | Hybrid Working | Full-Time or Part-Time Considered
PHM is a growing independent firm of Chartered Accountants based in Northampton, providing audit, accountancy, tax, and advisory services to owner-managed businesses, SMEs, and not-for-profit organisations across the region.
We are seeking an experienced ICAEW Responsible Individual (RI) to lead the delivery and quality of our audit service.
This role offers flexibility in both scope and working pattern. Whether you are looking for a full-time leadership role or a part-time position focused on audit quality and sign-off, we would be pleased to speak with you.

The Role
- Act as Responsible Individual on a portfolio of audit clients.
- Review and sign off audit assignments.
- Provide technical leadership and oversight to the Audit team.
- Support planning, risk assessment, and completion of audit engagements.
- Work closely with Partners and Managers to ensure excellent client service.
- Assist with proposals and onboarding of new audit clients.
- Help shape the future development of the Audit department.
About You
- Hold ICAEW Responsible Individual status.
- Have significant experience within UK accountancy practice.
- Be technically strong with a focus on quality and compliance.
- Enjoy supporting and developing team members.
- Be confident dealing directly with business owners and management teams.
- Be looking for a role where your experience can genuinely influence the future direction of a department.
