Reporting directly to the Head of Assurance & Risk, this position will be responsible for working independently to deliver holistic risk-based audit reviews of key business risks, business processes, business change and the management of financial, operational and compliance risks.

Make an Impact

  • Deliver the annual audit and risk plan agreed with the audit committee to our quality standards, on time and on budget.
  • Deliver the controls validation plan in line with companies approach to Provision 29 strategy.
  • Review work of Senior Audit and Risk Analyst.
  • Lead complex and diverse risk-based assurance engagements, including scoping, team direction, review and constructive challenge of senior stakeholders.
  • Lead the Senior Accounting Officer annual certification and support Corporate Criminal Offence compliance.
  • Support the annual risk assessment and audit planning process, evaluating risk exposure across business areas and helping to shape assurance priorities.
  • Support Head of Assurance & Risk with ad hoc projects/duties as requested driven by continuous improvement, audit and self-assessment findings, legal, policy and framework developments etc.
  • Manage and maintain the Audit/Board Optro system in conjunction with the other Assurance Risk Manager.
  • Business partner with designated business areas to strengthen risk management, governance and internal control frameworks, identifying practical and value-adding improvement opportunities.
  • Support the annual risk assessment and audit planning process, evaluating risk exposure across business areas and helping to shape assurance priorities.

Your Talent and Skills

  • CA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, with significant experience in financial and non-financial risk management, controls, and assurance.
  • Internal &/or external audit experience, with detailed understanding of potential risks & controls.
  • Familiarity with external assurance methodologies, risk management processes and compliance assessments.
  • Business process understanding, including finance and non-finance processes as well as process and control design and improvement.
  • Project management experience, with an attention to detail and able to translate big picture thinking into tangible work deliverables and action plans.
  • Highly numerate with strong financial and commercial acumen and experienced in the use of advanced excel and data analytics for Key Risk/Control/Performance indicators.
  • Previous experience with AuditBoad/ Optro system.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, ability and gravitas to effectively communicate, challenge and influence across all levels of the organisation.
  • Tenacious and “can do” attitude with a pro-active continuous improvement mind-set.
  • Able and comfortable working away from home and travelling internationally to all company locations without restriction as required (possibly at short notice).
