Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with audits across a varied portfolio of clients, working across different sectors and business sizes
- Planning and carrying out audit fieldwork, taking responsibility for allocated sections of the audit and ensuring work is completed accurately and efficiently
- Preparing audit working papers and supporting the completion of statutory financial statements
- Performing substantive and analytical audit procedures and identifying potential risks or issues for review
- Developing an understanding of clients’ systems, processes and internal controls and highlighting areas for improvement where appropriate
- Assisting with the preparation of statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships, LLPs and limited companies
- Supporting the preparation of corporation tax computations and other general accounts and tax work where required
- Building strong relationships with clients and acting as a professional and approachable point of contact during audit assignments
- Working closely with Audit Seniors and Managers, keeping them informed of progress, client developments and any technical or accounting issues
- Supporting and, where appropriate, assisting more junior members of the team and contributing to a positive team environment

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
We’re looking for someone who enjoys working with clients, has a proactive approach and is keen to develop their audit career within practice.
You’ll ideally have:
- Previous experience working in an accountancy practice, with some audit experience
- Be studying towards, or keen to continue studying, ACA or ACCA
- A good understanding of accounting and audit principles, with strong attention to detail
- The ability to manage your own workload and work effectively to multiple deadlines
- Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn, take responsibility and develop professionally
- Experience using audit and accounting software such as Caseware, Inflo, Xero, Sage or QuickBooks is desirable
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and build positive relationships with colleagues and clients
