Audit Senior
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum
About Us
We are recruiting for a growing accountancy and business advisory practice seeking an Audit Senior to join its experienced audit team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ACA or ACCA qualified, or part-qualified, audit professional to work with a varied client portfolio, including owner-managed businesses and SMEs. The role will involve planning and delivering audit assignments, leading onsite teams, building strong client relationships and supporting the development of junior staff.
The position would suit a confident and detail-focused auditor who enjoys client contact, working collaboratively and progressing within a forward-thinking practice environment.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute audit assignments for a diverse portfolio of clients
- Lead onsite audit teams to ensure audits are delivered efficiently and to a high standard
- Prepare audit files and ensure all work is completed in line with relevant standards
- Identify and resolve audit issues throughout the assignment process
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients while working onsite
- Act as a key point of contact for client queries during audit engagements
- Gain a strong understanding of clients’ businesses to deliver a tailored service
- Work closely with audit managers and directors on audit planning and completion
- Review work prepared by trainees and semi-senior team members
- Coach, support and develop junior members of the audit team
- Ensure audit deadlines are met and work is completed accurately
- Support wider accounts and advisory teams where required

Requirements
- ACA or ACCA qualified, or part-qualified
- Previous experience working in external audit within an accountancy practice
- Experience working on a range of audits, including owner-managed businesses
- Strong technical audit and accounting knowledge
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
- Confident leading onsite audit teams
- Strong communication and client relationship skills
- Ability to coach and support trainees and junior team members
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage deadlines
- Tech-savvy with experience using audit and accounting software
- Knowledge of CCH would be advantageous
- Positive, proactive and collaborative approach
