As an Audit Senior - External Audit Specialist, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality audit assignments, ensuring compliance with professional standards, and supporting junior team members throughout the audit cycle.
Operating within a respected accountancy practice, you'll work closely with managers, partners, and external stakeholders, gaining exposure to complex audit areas while building long-term client relationships. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support audit fieldwork from planning through to completion
- Coordinate audit assignments, ensuring delivery within agreed budgets and deadlines
- Run planning meetings and support risk assessment processes
- Review and delegate work to assistants and semi-seniors
- Prepare completion sections including key audit findings and going concern assessments
- Liaise with clients throughout the audit lifecycle to maintain strong communication
- Resolve technical queries and escalate complex issues where necessary
- Ensure audit files are fully prepared for manager and partner review
- Support billing preparation and workflow tracking
- Contribute to continuous improvement across audit processes
What We're Looking For
- ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
- Strong background in external audit within a professional services setting
- Confident supervising junior staff and reviewing audit work
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and prioritise workloads effectively
- A proactive and detail-oriented approach
