Audit Senior

Salary: £38,000-£42,000 + benefits
Location: Manchester / Hybrid
Industry: Accountancy

Are you an experienced auditor looking for a role where you can take ownership of assignments, build strong client relationships and continue developing your career within a supportive practice environment? This could be an excellent opportunity to step into a role with genuine responsibility and progression.

We're working with a well-established accountancy practice that is continuing to grow and is looking for an Audit Senior to join its team. You'll work closely with managers and directors across a varied portfolio, gaining exposure to a broad range of clients while taking an active role in delivering high-quality external audits.

The Role

As an Audit Senior, you'll take responsibility for audits from planning through to completion, working directly with clients and providing support and guidance to more junior members of the team. The role offers a good balance of technical audit work, client interaction and team leadership, making it well suited to someone who wants to build towards an Assistant Manager position.

What you'll be doing

  • Planning and completing external audit assignments across a diverse client portfolio.
  • Taking responsibility for audit fieldwork, testing, analytical review and completion procedures.
  • Leading smaller audit teams on-site and ensuring assignments are delivered efficiently.
  • Building trusted relationships with clients and developing a strong understanding of their businesses.
  • Reviewing the work of trainees and junior team members, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
  • Supporting managers and directors with more complex assignments and technical matters.
  • Identifying potential issues during audits and communicating findings clearly to clients and senior colleagues.
  • Ensuring all work is completed accurately and in line with relevant UK auditing and accounting standards.
  • Contributing to the continued development of junior team members through coaching and mentoring.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
