We're looking for a talented Audit Senior to join our Southampton team - our TC SEM offices were recently recognised in the Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2026. You'll play a key role in supporting a diverse portfolio of audit clients, within the owner-managed and corporate sectors, the Audit Senior will work alongside Audit Managers on key and mid-tier accounts. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your expertise, build meaningful client relationships and progress your career within a growing and forward-thinking organisation.

What You'll Be Doing

As our Audit Senior, you'll be responsible for:

  • Leading and delivering audit assignments through the completion of audit fieldwork at client premises and in the office, overseeing all stages of the audit lifecycle from planning and execution through to final completion
  • Preparing client deliverables (including Audit Findings Report), building relationships with the client (including their teams) and acting as an ambassador for the business
  • Attendance at stock takes as required
  • Supervising, delegating and reviewing work of Assistants and Executives
  • Active involvement in the professional and personal development of more junior team members
  • Preparation of accounts on IRIS (including those under IFRS, FRS102 and 1A)
  • Identifying, researching and helping to resolve technical issues which may arise
  • Develop a strong commercial understanding of the client's businesses and any developments within it
  • Initiate and work with other service lines across the business to the benefit of the client including referring opportunities where relevant and minimising risk (to both the business and the client)
  • You will be expected to attend training to further develop and maintain your technical skills and if not yet attained to work towards a professional qualification

What We're Looking For

We're keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience of working in audit
  • AAT / ACCA / ACA qualified, or working towards qualification
  • Recent accounting and audit experience with owner managed businesses is essential, including knowledge of UK GAAP, ISAs and companies Law
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, with and the confidence to liaise directly with clients and senior stakeholders
  • Demonstrate excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Have a questioning, inquisitive mindset and take pride in your work
  • Excellent time and project management capabilities
  • A proactive and professional approach, demonstrating sound judgement and professional scepticism
  • The ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to building the reputation of the firm through the quality of work provided, knowledge demonstrated and client experience
  • Regular travel to client sites and occasional travel further afield, so a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.
