Your new company
This is an opportunity to join a growing and ambitious accountancy practice with a strong reputation for delivering audit, accounts and advisory services to a diverse client base across Scotland. The firm continues to invest in its people and offers a collaborative environment where individuals are encouraged to develop their technical expertise and take on increasing responsibility as their careers progress.
Based in Dundee, you'll become part of a close-knit team that combines the resources and opportunities of a larger organisation with the supportive culture of a local office. The firm works with a broad portfolio of owner-managed businesses, charities and not-for-profit organisations, providing excellent exposure to a varied range of work.
Your new role
As an Audit Senior, you'll play a key role within the audit team, managing a varied portfolio of clients and taking responsibility for audit and accounts assignments from planning through to completion. The role offers an approximate split of 70% audit and 30% accounts work, providing a strong blend of assurance and compliance exposure.
You will lead statutory audits and independent examinations, including specialist areas such as charity audits and solicitor rules engagements, while supporting and supervising junior members of the team. Alongside your audit responsibilities, you will prepare statutory accounts, including consolidated accounts where required, draft corporation tax returns and assist with the preparation of non-audit accounts assignments. Working closely with Managers and Partners, you'll have the opportunity to further develop your technical knowledge while building strong relationships with a diverse client base.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
