£42,000-£48,000 + GREAT BENEFITS
THE OPPORTUNITY
Get Recruited is partnering with an established and growing accountancy practice that is looking to appoint an experienced Audit Senior to its team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an audit professional who is ready to take ownership of assignments, support junior colleagues and develop strong relationships with a varied portfolio of clients.
Working closely with Audit Managers and Responsible Individuals, you will lead audit engagements from planning through to completion. The position provides broad client exposure, continued professional development and a clear progression route.
THE AUDIT SENIOR ROLE
- Lead audit assignments from initial planning through to completion.
- Develop a clear understanding of each client's business, systems and operating environment.
- Assist with preparing audit plans and identifying key financial and operational risks.
- Complete audit testing across relevant financial statement areas.
- Assess internal controls and identify weaknesses or opportunities for improvement.
- Coordinate fieldwork and monitor assignments against agreed deadlines and budgets.
- Prepare accurate audit working papers in accordance with professional standards.
- Review work completed by trainees and junior team members.
- Identify and communicate significant accounting, audit and control matters.
- Discuss audit queries and findings with client finance teams and senior stakeholders.
- Prepare and review statutory financial statements under UK GAAP and FRS 102.
- Support corporation tax computations and associated compliance work where required.
- Provide regular progress updates to Audit Managers and Responsible Individuals.
- Assist with audit completion documents and management letters.
- Build effective and professional relationships with clients.
- Coach and provide constructive feedback to junior colleagues.
- Contribute to technical updates, process improvements and wider departmental projects.

THE PERSON
- ACA or ACCA qualified, part-qualified or at finalist level.
- Previous audit experience gained within a UK accountancy practice.
- Experience leading or making a significant contribution to audit assignments from planning through to completion.
- Good knowledge of UK GAAP, FRS 102 and International Standards on Auditing.
- Experience preparing statutory accounts for limited companies and groups.
- Confident identifying audit risks and completing appropriate testing.
- Previous experience supervising or supporting junior colleagues.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence dealing directly with clients and resolving audit queries.
- Well organised with the ability to manage competing assignments and deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate work.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites when required.
