About The Role And Team

The Director of Audit Technology Support and Implementation is responsible for leading and developing the support team and operating model for Audit Tools and Techniques (ATTs) across the UK audit practice. The role provides senior leadership and ownership of the end-to-end support function, ensuring that audit technology is effectively implemented, embedded and sustained within business-as-usual operations. The role is accountable for taking ownership of the support strategy, building and leading the team and ensuring that ATTs are supported in a way that drives consistent adoption, high-quality usage and maximum value to audit teams. This includes overseeing the transition of tools from Transformation into BAU, managing hypercare and ongoing support, and ensuring the support model scales in line with the growing ATT portfolio.

The role works closely with senior audit leadership, Transformation, Audit Quality, Data Analytics, IT and third-party providers to ensure a cohesive and effective operating model that supports the audit service line in delivering quality and efficiency through technology.

  • Own and develop the overall ATT support model, defining structure, operating approach and service delivery standards across all ATTs.
  • Lead the support function, including onshore and offshore resource, ensuring the team is appropriately structured and capable of meeting business demand.
  • Oversee the transition of ATTs from Transformation into BAU support, ensuring clear handover, readiness and sustainability of support processes.
  • Lead the delivery of support across the ATT landscape, ensuring issues are managed effectively and that audit teams receive timely, high-quality support.
  • Act as the senior escalation point for complex, high-risk or business-critical issues, ensuring resolution is achieved and risks are managed appropriately.
  • Define and monitor service level support activity, including key metrics such as ticket volumes, resolution times, service levels and recurring issues.
  • Engage with audit leadership and stakeholders to understand support needs, challenges and opportunities, ensuring the support model aligns to business requirements.
  • Drive adoption of ATTs through effective support, ensuring audit teams are confident in the use of tools and that usage is consistent and compliant.
  • Work closely with Transformation to understand the ATT pipeline, ensuring appropriate support models are defined for new tools entering the landscape.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Product Developers, Audit Quality, IT and Data Analytics to ensure alignment across support, governance and technical delivery.
  • Oversee relationships with third-party suppliers and support providers, ensuring effective service delivery, issue resolution and alignment with firm requirements.
  • Identify risks, issues and dependencies impacting ATT support, and define mitigating actions to ensure continuity and quality of service.
  • Drive continuous improvement of the support model, including process optimisation, standardisation and scalability as the ATT portfolio grows.
  • Ensure clear governance and control is maintained across the support function, including alignment to audit quality and regulatory expectations where relevant.
  • Balance competing priorities across multiple ATTs with different risk profiles, user volumes and maturity levels.
  • Support strategic planning for the audit technology landscape, including input into tool prioritisation and adoption.
  • Contribute to broader Transformation and audit initiatives where support insight can drive value or efficiency.
  • Support development of training strategies, user enablement and wider adoption initiatives.
  • Provide input into business cases relating to audit technology, including support requirements and operating costs.
  • Represent the support function in senior forums, working groups and governance structures where required.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
