Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Working Pattern: Hybrid working available after probationary period

The Opportunity

As an Audit Trainee, you'll be involved in delivering audit services to a varied portfolio of clients, gaining exposure to different industries and business environments. Working closely with experienced colleagues, you'll support all stages of the audit process, develop your technical and analytical skills, and build valuable client relationships. What You'll Be Doing

As our Audit Trainee, you'll be responsible for:

  • Assist the wider audit team by obtaining and evaluating audit evidence to support audit opinions.
  • Prepare analyses of accounting data from clients’ books and records.
  • Ensure audit files are complete and contain all relevant documentation in the appropriate sections, with sufficient evidence to support conclusions and audit opinions.
  • Engage proactively with client staff to obtain appropriate audit evidence and information.
  • Support the Audit Manager in the planning, execution, and completion of audit assignments.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing clients.
  • Contribute to the delivery of high-quality audit services while ensuring compliance with professional standards and internal procedures.

What We're Looking For

We're keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate:

  • A minimum of 4 GCSEs at grades 9–4 (A*–C), including English and Mathematics.
  • Three A-levels (or equivalent) totalling at least 120 UCAS points.
  • A relevant degree with a minimum classification of 2:1 (or be on track to achieve this).
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, with intermediate proficiency in Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and personable approach.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and seek support when required.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to identify issues and propose practical solutions.
  • The confidence to take initiative, exercise sound judgement, and take ownership of tasks from start to finish.
  • The ability to work effectively under pressure, manage competing deadlines, and balance professional responsibilities with study commitments.
  • A motivated, enthusiastic, and proactive attitude towards learning and development.
  • A willingness and ability to commute reliably to the office and travel to client sites as required.
