London Symphonia Principal Horn Position
London Symphonia consists of a core group of 30 musicians. We have a vacancy for Principal Horn.
London Symphonia operates under a collective bargaining agreement with the London Musicians’ Association, Local 279. London Symphonia Musicians are members of the Canadian Federation of Musicians.
London Symphonia performs 8 main series concerts per season, with additional education and outreach services, sold services and recordings. Core members have the first right of refusal for this work. The current Union Agreement extends to the end of the 2027-2028 season.
Contract Details
This position is a per-service contract position with 20 guaranteed services per annum in 2026-27 and 25 guaranteed services in 2027-28. The per-service rate for a principal player in the 2026-2027 season is $187.98, plus 11% pension. London Symphonia is a signatory to the Integrated Media Agreement for Canada (IMAC).

The winner of this audition must be available to begin work in the 2026-27 Season, and the right of first refusal begins immediately upon the vacancy being filled.
Audition Details
We are holding in-person auditions on Monday, August 31, 2026, at our primary venue, Metropolitan United Church, located at 468 Wellington St., London, Ontario. Start time for the auditions is 11:00 a.m. Doors open at 10:00 a.m.
- Candidates are responsible for arranging their own travel and all associated costs of attendance at the audition.

This audition is open only to Canadian Citizens, Permanent Residents, and applicants who, at the time of the audition, have the proper authorization from Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada and/or Employment and Social Development Canada to work for LONDON SYMPHONIA.
Applicants are required to submit a ONE-PAGE resume and a $50 deposit, which is refundable for all who arrive at the audition on time.
