Purpose of Role
VINCI Facilities is seeking an experienced Authorised Person (HV/LV) to support the safe operation, compliance, and resilience of critical engineering infrastructures in South Buckinghamshire.
This role combines the technical responsibilities of an Authorised Person with leadership skills. You will be responsible for the safe management of electrical systems, supporting operational continuity, and ensuring engineering activities are delivered in accordance with site procedures and statutory requirements.
Due to the nature of the site, the successful candidate must be eligible to obtain and maintain Developed Vetting (DV) Security Clearance. Sole UK national.
Job Description
You will be entrusted with the operational control, safety, and compliance of critical electrical infrastructure across the site, acting as the Authorised Person for LV, HV, Standby Power Systems, and Hazardous Areas and covering absences as the Shift Manager.
Working as part of a highly skilled engineering team, you will provide both technical expertise and operational leadership. When designated as the Shift Manager, you will coordinate engineering activities, support maintenance delivery, and act as the primary escalation point for any technical or operational issues arising during your shift.

This position operates variable day 40 hour week, (with on-call requirements) this includes some weekend works on a monthly basis and offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced AP to take on a supporting role within a complex, secure, and critical environment.
May also on occasion be required to travel to other sites.
Responsibilities
- Act as Authorised Person (AP) for LV, HV, Standby Power Systems, and Hazardous Areas in accordance with site rules and safe systems of work.
- Must be able to achieve a second discipline:
- Working at height
- Confined space
- Mechanical
- Ensure the safe operation, maintenance, and compliance of critical electrical infrastructure.
- Manage electrical isolations, switching operations, permits, and authorisations.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to Skilled and Competent Persons.
- Act as Shift Manager when required, serving as the first point of escalation for operational and technical issues.
- Coordinate planned, reactive, and project maintenance activities to ensure site resilience and uptime.
- Lead fault-finding and incident response activities, ensuring effective resolution and minimal disruption to operations.
- Support contractors and specialist service providers, ensuring activities are completed safely and to the required standards.
- Promote a strong health, safety, and compliance culture across the engineering team.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence across the site.

Essential Qualifications/Skills
- Significant electrical engineering experience within a critical, industrial, defence, or complex building services environment.
- Proven experience operating as an Authorised Person for HV and LV electrical systems, Standby Power Systems, and Hazardous Areas.
- Relevant electrical qualifications (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, BS7671, or equivalent, relevant AP qualifications in line with JSP 375 requirements).
- Strong understanding of electrical safe systems of work, switching procedures, and permit management.
- Experience leading engineering teams or undertaking supervisory/shift leadership responsibilities.
- Excellent fault-finding, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work variable day/night shift cover when required.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain Developed Vetting (DV) Security Clearance.
- Full UK driving licence.
