HV Authorised Person – Long-Term Contract – East Anglia – Offshore Wind / HVDC – Monday to Friday
I’m working with a major contractor preparing to take responsibility for the operation and maintenance of onshore and offshore electrical infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting mobilisation and familiarisation period ahead of operational handover.
- Working alongside the EPC contractor and OEMs during commissioning and warranty activities.
- Developing a detailed understanding of auxiliary equipment.
- Reviewing and preparing operational documentation, RAMS and maintenance plans.
- Supporting the development of daily, weekly, monthly and annual maintenance schedules.
- Shadowing site teams and gaining familiarity with the substations.
- Acting as an Authorised Person across the project’s HV electrical systems.
- Supporting switching, isolations, safety documentation and safe systems of work.
- Participating in a 24/7 on call rota.
- Providing operational cover for parallel activities across the onshore and offshore assets.
- Supporting other projects within the wider portfolio when operational requirements allow.

Requirements:
- Current or previous HV Authorised Person or Senior Authorised Person experience.
- Strong practical experience working within substations or other high voltage environments.
- Experience with HVDC systems would be beneficial but is not essential.
- Previous exposure to converter stations, offshore substations, commissioning or operational handover would be advantageous.
- GWO certification or the ability to obtain the required offshore qualifications.
- Comfortable working with EPC contractors, OEMs and third party system providers.
- Based with East Anglia.
- Flexibility to undertake limited offshore work when required.

Contract details:
- 18 month contract.
- Monday to Friday.
- October start.
- Day rate contract, with an additional on call rate.
