A leading education recruitment agency is currently seeking an experienced Autism Resource Base Teacher to join a welcoming mainstream primary school based in Thurrock, RM15.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Autism Resource Base Teacher with a strong primary teaching background and a passion for supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs, particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

The Role

As an Autism Resource Base Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, differentiated learning that meets the individual needs of pupils within the resource base.

The successful candidate will have extensive primary school experience and a strong understanding of how to plan, adapt and deliver learning for pupils with SEN, particularly ASD.

You Will

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons.
  • Develop personalised learning approaches based on individual pupil needs.
  • Have a strong understanding of ASD and effective strategies for supporting autistic pupils.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, the SENCO and wider school staff.
  • Monitor pupil progress and adapt planning accordingly.
  • Create a positive, structured and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support pupils both within the resource base and, where appropriate, within the mainstream school.

The school is looking for an Autism Resource Base Teacher who:

  • Has extensive experience teaching in a primary school setting.
  • Has strong experience working with pupils with SEN and ASD.
  • Understands how to plan and deliver effective lessons for pupils with additional needs.
  • Is confident differentiating the curriculum and adapting teaching approaches.
  • Has excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Is patient, nurturing and committed to achieving the best outcomes for every pupil.
  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
