Autism Teaching Assistant – Bromley

Location: Bromley

Contract: Temporary

Pay: £100–£130 per day PAYE

The opportunity

A specialist SEN setting in Bromley is looking for an Autism Teaching Assistant who can offer consistent, practical support and help pupils feel secure, understood and ready to learn.

What you will do

  • Use visual structure, clear language and predictable routines to support participation.
  • Help pupils manage transitions, sensory needs and emotional regulation.
  • Adapt activities so pupils can communicate choices and develop independence.
  • Share concise observations with teachers, therapists and pastoral colleagues.
  • Build respectful relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.

  • Experience supporting autistic children or young people in education, care or community settings.
  • Patience, reliability and an understanding of individual communication differences.
  • Strong safeguarding awareness and a positive approach to behaviour support.
  • QTS is not required for this classroom-support role.
