Role Description
This is a full-time remote role for an Automatic Door Engineer. The Automatic Door Engineer will carry out installation, servicing, and repairs of automatic doors and related entrance systems at customer sites, coordinating visits and reporting remotely. Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing faults, performing emergency repairs, conducting routine maintenance, and ensuring all work meets industry standards and safety regulations. The role involves preparing clear service reports, advising customers on upgrades and system improvements, and collaborating with the wider engineering team to provide fast, reliable support. The engineer will also be responsible for maintaining tools and equipment, following company procedures, and communicating effectively with clients and colleagues.

- Strong technical skills in installing, maintaining, and repairing automatic doors, roller shutters, and related entrance systems.
- Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, with practical experience using hand tools, test equipment, and control systems.
- Sound understanding of relevant safety regulations and industry standards, with a commitment to safe working practices.
- Effective problem-solving and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize emergency call-outs and routine service work.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for interacting with customers and completing accurate service documentation.
- Comfort working remotely, with the ability to plan daily workload, coordinate site visits, and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Previous experience in automatic door engineering, industrial doors, or a similar field is highly beneficial.
- Relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in engineering, electrical, or mechanical disciplines is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to customer locations as required.
