We’re looking for an experienced Automatic Door Engineer to join a growing engineering team. Experience working with automatic doors is essential, while experience with gates, bollards and shutters would be advantageous but is not essential.

This is a hands-on field role covering the installation, servicing, maintenance and reactive repair of automatic doors. You’ll need a methodical approach to problem solving, good fault-finding skills and the confidence to work independently while providing a high level of customer service.

With a varied workload, overtime opportunities, a company van and ongoing training, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to develop their career within the automatic door and access industry.

Automatic Door Engineer, The Role

  • Install, service, maintain and repair automatic doors in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and industry standards.
  • Plan and complete installation projects, ensuring systems are correctly fitted and fully operational.
  • Carry out site surveys and assess installation requirements.
  • Perform planned servicing and routine maintenance.
  • Complete detailed service records, documenting repairs, adjustments and recommendations.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults.
  • Respond to reactive service calls and emergency repair requests, minimising customer downtime.
  • Provide temporary solutions or replacements where required to maintain security until permanent repairs can be completed.
  • Communicate directly with customers, providing professional advice on maintenance, repairs and system operation.
  • Provide customers with guidance and training on the correct use and maintenance of installed systems.
  • Complete risk assessments and ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of automatic door technologies and relevant industry requirements.
  • Attend relevant training and industry events to continue developing technical knowledge.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
