Role Description

This is a full-time, mobile engineer role for Auto Door & Shutters, Gates & Barrier Engineers. Based around the London and surrounding areas.

In this position, you will install, service, and repair automatic doors, shutters, gates systems, ensuring they operate safely and in line with relevant standards and regulations. (You do not need to be qualified in all elements and products).

You will carry out routine maintenance, fault-finding, and diagnostics, completing accurate service reports and documentation. The role involves responding to call-outs, prioritizing work orders, and collaborating with colleagues, site managers, and customers to minimize downtime and disruption. You will also support continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues, recommending technical solutions, and maintaining tools, equipment, and vehicles to high standards of safety and cleanliness.

Qualifications

  • Strong customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly on-site and provide a professional, safety-conscious service.
  • Practical experience in automotive or electromechanical systems, particularly in automatic doors, shutters, gates, or barrier mechanisms.
  • Ideally hold ADSA and/Or DHF qualification.
  • IPAF/PASMA useful but not essential.
  • Willingness to undertake ongoing training and certification related to auto door, gate, and barrier installation, maintenance, and understanding of industry compliance and standards.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, use diagnostic tools, and complete clear, accurate service documentation.
  • Full UK driving license and readiness to travel locally as required.
  • Commitment to health and safety best practices and working collaboratively within diverse teams.
