Job Title: Automation Engineer

Location: Broughton, UK

Duration: 6 Months + Possible extension

Work Type: Onsite

Job Description:

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join the Manufacturing Technologies team supporting the deployment and continuous improvement of automated manufacturing solutions used in aircraft wing assembly.

This role offers the opportunity to work with advanced automation technologies including industrial robots, CNC machinery, Cartesian systems, and collaborative robots (Cobots), driving innovation within a world-class aerospace manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deploy and support automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Develop and improve automated assembly processes.
  • Define specifications for new automation machinery.
  • Lead automation and engineering projects from concept to implementation.
  • Provide technical support for production equipment, tooling, drills, routers, and cutters.
  • Analyse manufacturing data to improve quality, efficiency, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, production, and engineering teams to resolve technical issues.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong background in Automation Engineering and/or Robotics.
  • Experience working with automated manufacturing systems.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience using data analysis tools such as Minitab or Skywise.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Desirable

  • Aerospace or aviation manufacturing experience.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes within high-volume production environments.
  • Understanding of REACH legislation.
