About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Automation Engineer to join our dynamic team on a remote basis, with the flexibility to work from Warrington or from home. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse automation projects, primarily focusing on PLC and SCADA development, testing, and commissioning. The successful candidate will be integral to delivering automation solutions across various sectors, with a particular emphasis on process automation within the dairy industry. The role involves engaging directly with clients at their sites, providing technical support, and ensuring the successful deployment of automation systems. Travel to customer locations will be approximately 20%, offering a chance to work directly with clients and gain valuable on-site experience.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in automation engineering, with specific experience in PLC and SCADA programming. Proficiency with Siemens and/or Rockwell/Allen Bradley systems is essential. Candidates should have a solid understanding of process automation principles and experience working within the dairy industry or similar process-driven environments. A proven track record in FAT/SAT and system commissioning is required, demonstrating the ability to deliver projects from start to finish. Excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication abilities, and a proactive approach to work are highly valued. A relevant degree or equivalent qualification in automation, electrical engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Designing, developing, and testing PLC and SCADA systems tailored to client needs.
- Programming, configuring, and troubleshooting automation solutions to ensure optimal performance.
- Participating in factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site acceptance testing (SAT).
- Coordinating with clients and internal teams to meet project specifications.
- Commissioning automation systems at customer sites, ensuring seamless integration and operation.
- Providing technical support and training to clients.
- Troubleshooting issues during project execution.
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintaining accurate documentation.
- Adhering to safety standards.
- Managing project timelines.
