Automation Engineer – AI, Copilot Studio & Power Platform
Location: London, Liverpool or Glasgow (Hybrid – 2 days per week onsite)

We are working with a leading UK financial services organisation that is investing heavily in AI, automation and digital transformation. They are looking for an experienced Automation Engineer to design, build and deploy AI-powered automations, copilots and intelligent workflows that improve operational efficiency and colleague experience across the business.
This is an opportunity to work at the forefront of enterprise AI, leveraging Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry and the Power Platform to deliver production-grade AI solutions in a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and deploy AI-powered copilots and agents using Copilot Studio
- Build Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions using Azure OpenAI and enterprise data sources
- Develop Power Automate workflows and Power Apps solutions
- Integrate Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, Outlook and business applications via APIs and connectors
- Create reusable automation components, connectors and standards
- Implement monitoring, telemetry, testing and support processes
- Ensure solutions meet governance, security, compliance and risk requirements
- Work closely with business stakeholders to identify and prioritise automation opportunities
- Drive adoption of AI-first ways of working across the organisation

Essential Skills & Experience
- Commercial experience with Microsoft Copilot Studio
- Experience building AI agents, copilots and conversational workflows
- Azure OpenAI experience including prompt engineering, RAG and AI safety controls
- Strong Microsoft Power Platform expertise, particularly Power Automate
- Microsoft Graph API experience
- Experience integrating systems using REST APIs, JSON and webhooks
- Understanding of Entra ID, OAuth and enterprise security controls
- Experience with Azure AI Foundry (AI Studio)
- DevOps experience including Git, CI/CD and release management

Desirable Skills
- Blue Prism, UiPath or Automation Anywhere
- Python and/or PowerShell
- Power BI
- Test automation experience
- React or modern front-end development exposure
