The Role
We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join our team, focusing on developing and implementing automation solutions to enhance observability and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation and observability technologies, with at least 4 years of experience in source code management and automation toolsets like Ansible, PowerShell, Terraform, and Python.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain automation solutions for system monitoring, alerting, and reporting, including agent deployment, synthetic transaction monitoring, and incident remediation.
- Manage source code using GitHub (or similar tools), ensuring best practices in version control, branching, and collaboration.
- Develop automation scripts using Ansible, PowerShell, Terraform, and Python for advanced automation and data analysis tasks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement automation opportunities.
- Document automation processes and provide support for IT operations and development teams.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to automation scripts and systems.
- Stay updated on the latest automation technologies and contribute to team innovation.

Skills and experience
- Generally, requires a Bachelor's degree and 5 years of related experience, a Master's degree and 3 years of related experience, or 8 years of related experience and no degree.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in developing automation solutions for IT operations.
- Strong proficiency in GitHub (or similar tools), Ansible, PowerShell, Terraform, and Jenkins.
- Experience with event management solutions, including ServiceNow ITOM, AIOps, and observability platforms.
- Proficiency in Python scripting.
- Experience with modern observability tools.
- Solid understanding of IT operations, system administration, and observability principles.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
