A large logistics and distribution business is looking for an experienced engineer to join the team. The successful candidate will ensure that automated systems are operating at peak performance to maintain operational efficiency. You will explore data from control systems and sensors to maximise equipment availability and solve complex productivity challenges.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and repair issues with key automated systems and material handling equipment.
  • Provide data visualisations of troubleshooting activities to internal stakeholders.
  • Lead or participate in continuous improvement projects focused on controls and automation.
  • Maintain accurate system documentation and backup libraries across the site.
  • Collaborate with international colleagues to install and commission new equipment and develop improvement strategies for code.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience with PLC-controlled automation and issue diagnosis in a production environment.
  • Technical proficiency with Ladder Logic and structured programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Codesys).
  • Experience with SCADA platforms, HMI, and fieldbus networks such as Profinet or EthernetIP.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and work with VFDs and safety gateways.
  • Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English.
