Job Title: OT/Industrial Automation Engineer
Contract: 6 months
SciPro are working with a Medical Device manufacturing company with their search for a senior OT / Automation Engineer to support a number of manufacturing and industrial technology projects, with a particular focus on the rollout and development of Inductive Automation Ignition across multiple sites.
The role will sit across OT infrastructure, industrial automation, machine connectivity and data management, working closely with existing engineering teams and supporting the integration of manufacturing equipment and machine data.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation, development and rollout of Ignition across multiple manufacturing sites.
- Connect and integrate industrial equipment, PLCs and machine data into the wider OT environment.
- Develop and maintain machine data infrastructure, helping to establish consistent and reliable data sources across sites.
- Support the integration of new and upgraded manufacturing equipment into existing OT systems.
- Work with engineering and operational teams to understand existing equipment, systems and processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Support wider global OT / Ignition rollout projects and associated data and infrastructure requirements.
- Contribute to the development of centralised data solutions and a single source of truth for manufacturing and operational data.

- Strong hands-on experience with Inductive Automation Ignition.
- Strong understanding of OPC / OPC UA, PLCs and industrial machine communications.
- Proven experience working within manufacturing / industrial environments, with a good understanding of machine operations and equipment.
- Experience with OT infrastructure, machine data, data integration and data management.
- Senior-level, self-sufficient engineer who can understand and work with existing systems and equipment with minimal hand-holding.
- Experience supporting multi-site or global technology rollouts would be advantageous.
