Automation Engineer

Location: Remote, UK

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per year

Job Type: Full-time

Job Summary

We are looking for an Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automated solutions that improve efficiency, reliability, and business processes.

This role is suited to someone with experience in automation, software development, testing, or systems engineering who enjoys solving technical problems and improving processes through technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated processes and solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive and manual tasks.
  • Develop, test, and troubleshoot automation scripts and workflows.
  • Work with technical and business teams to understand requirements and improve processes.
  • Monitor automated systems and resolve issues when they occur.
  • Maintain technical documentation for automation processes and solutions.
  • Test automation solutions to ensure reliability, accuracy, and performance.
  • Support continuous improvement of existing automation systems.
  • Follow appropriate development, testing, and documentation standards.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in Automation Engineering, Software Engineering, Test Automation, Process Automation, or a related technical role.
  • Good understanding of automation principles and software development.
  • Experience with scripting or programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or similar.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and identify effective solutions.
  • Good understanding of software testing and quality assurance processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with technical teams.
