Automation Engineer (Defence) – Esko Platform
Day Rate: £500 per day (Outside IR35)
Contract Length: 20 Days
Location: Corsham (On-site)
Security Clearance: Active SC Clearance (Minimum) Required
Our client is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to support a critical automation upgrade programme within a secure Defence environment.
This is a short-term, high-impact contract where you will be responsible for reviewing, modernising and upgrading the organisation's existing automation systems. You will work alongside technical teams to improve reliability, performance and operational efficiency across a large-scale automation estate.

- Assess and upgrade existing automation systems and workflows.
- Design, develop and implement improvements across the current automation environment.
- Work with technical stakeholders to identify opportunities for optimisation and increased resilience.
- Deliver automation solutions that support business-critical operations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve automation issues throughout the upgrade programme.
- Produce technical documentation and knowledge transfer where required.
- Ensure all work complies with Defence security standards and best practice.
Essential Experience
- Proven experience as an Automation Engineer within Defence or secure Government environments.
- Strong hands-on experience using Esko automation platforms.
- Experience delivering large-scale automation implementations, upgrades or transformation programmes.
- Ability to analyse existing environments and recommend technical improvements.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working within highly secure, regulated environments.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
