Automation Engineer – SASE
12-Month Contract
Fully Remote – UK
Outside IR35 £500–£525 per day
We are looking for an experienced Automation Engineer to join a long-term programme focused on automating and improving enterprise SASE and network security environments.
This is a 12-month, fully remote contract offering £500–£525 per day Outside IR35.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop automation solutions across enterprise SASE and network security environments
- Automate configuration, deployment, and operational processes using Python
- Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
- Develop integrations using REST APIs
- Automate security and networking workflows across cloud and SASE platforms
- Work closely with network, security, and engineering teams to identify opportunities for automation
- Improve repeatability, scalability, and reliability across security infrastructure
- Support automated provisioning, configuration management, and platform integrations
- Troubleshoot automation scripts, API integrations, and infrastructure deployments

Key Skills
- Strong hands-on Python development and scripting experience
- Strong experience with Terraform / Infrastructure as Code
- Experience building and integrating REST APIs
- Strong background within SASE, network security, or secure networking
- Experience automating enterprise networking or cybersecurity environments
- Good understanding of networking concepts including routing, firewalls, VPNs, and secure connectivity
- Experience working within cloud or hybrid infrastructure environments
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Highly Desirable
- Experience with Palo Alto Networks
- Hands-on experience with Prisma Access
- Knowledge of Palo Alto Networks APIs and automation capabilities
- Experience with Ansible
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines such as GitLab, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins
- Exposure to AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Experience working within large enterprise security environments
