Role Description
This Automation Engineer internship is a hybrid role based in Coventry, with a mix of on-site work and some work-from-home flexibility. The intern will support the design, testing, and implementation of automation solutions for data-driven and industrial processes. Day-to-day tasks include assisting with configuring control systems, integrating sensors and actuators, and helping maintain robotics and automation equipment. The role involves troubleshooting system issues, documenting findings, and collaborating with engineering and BI teams to improve reliability and performance. The intern will also contribute to process optimization initiatives, follow safety and quality standards, and learn best practices in automation engineering.

- Candidates should possess skills in Automation and Process Control for configuring, monitoring, and optimizing automated systems.
- Candidates should possess skills in Electrical Engineering for understanding circuits, control panels, and instrumentation.
- Candidates should possess skills in Robotics for working with robotic systems, motion control, and integration with automation platforms.
- Candidates should possess strong Troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and system issues.
- Basic knowledge of PLCs, SCADA, or related control systems is beneficial.
- Pursuing or holding a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related technical field is preferred.
- Ability to work safely in an engineering environment, follow procedures, and document work clearly.
- Effective communication, teamwork, and time management skills, with a willingness to learn and adapt.
