About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Engineer to join our dynamic team on a remote basis, with occasional travel to customer sites. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse automation projects, primarily involving PLC and SCADA development, testing, and commissioning. The successful candidate will be instrumental in delivering tailored automation solutions within the dairy industry and other sectors, contributing to the efficiency and productivity of our clients’ operations.
The Automation Engineer will be responsible for designing, programming, and commissioning automation systems, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance. The role provides a balance of technical challenge and autonomy, allowing you to work on multiple projects across different locations, with the flexibility to operate remotely while maintaining close collaboration with clients and internal teams.

Qualifications
- Proven experience in PLC and SCADA programming, with a strong understanding of automation system design and implementation.
- Hands-on experience with Siemens and/or Rockwell/Allen Bradley automation platforms.
- Previous experience within the dairy industry or similar process-driven sectors is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of process automation principles, including control systems and instrumentation.
- Experience with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and commissioning of automation systems.
- Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites, often working away from home when projects require.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Designing and developing PLC and SCADA programs tailored to client specifications.
- Conducting testing and validation of automation systems to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Leading onsite commissioning activities, including FAT and SAT procedures.
- Providing technical support and troubleshooting during installation and commissioning phases.
- Collaborating with project managers, electrical engineers, and clients to ensure project milestones are met.
- Documenting system designs, configurations, and test results for future reference and compliance.
- Participating in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance automation processes and standards.
- Traveling to customer sites as required, often working on-site for project delivery and support.
