Job Summary
We are looking for an Automation Engineer with strong technical skills to bring his/her/their expertise into our global company of 25K employees. You will be guided by our global brand promise, PROTECTS WHAT’S GOOD.

This is an opportunity to interface with our extensive customer base and provide industry-leading processing solutions. You will be traveling up to 40% of your time to customer sites in the UK, Ireland, and North Europe.
The purpose and responsibility of the role as Automation Engineer is to implement Automation Projects and Upgrades.
This position is based either in the UK or in Ireland.
What You Will Do
- Create, modify, and comprehend control systems for our customers' processes, involving tasks such as writing PLC code, configuring HMI systems, conducting simulations, commissioning, servicing, documenting the systems, managing network infrastructure, working with PI systems, recipe systems, providing production support, modifying databases, and debugging.
- Sufficient knowledge is required to effectively implement Automation systems in a collaborative environment with guidance and support from colleagues and technical experts.

Other Responsibilities:
- Agreeing project specifications, budgets and timescales with clients and colleagues
- Report to the Project Manager for project & program related tasks including budget control, progress reports & forecasting.
- Interface with account managers and customers to assess the customer requirements and thereby create cost effective quotations.
- Maintaining project documentation and records
- Participate in design reviews and safety risk assessments.
- Produce documentation for Internal Test and customer FAT.
- Help breakdown and plan the project into phases and fulfil the plan and project milestones on time and in full according to budget.
Profile Description
We believe you have:
- Bachelor’s degree qualification or knowledge and experience of automation solutions, electrical or electronic engineering and process control.
- At least 4 years of experience with processing area automation systems required.
- Siemens and/or Rockwell PLC experience advantageous
- Experience with AVEVA and/or Ignition SCADA systems advantageous
- Commercial awareness.
- Previous experience in the food or dairy industry is an advantage.
- Experience with Industrial switches, Servers, Visual Basic, SQL databases, Virtual Machines & VMware preferred.
- Working experience with Microsoft Office required.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to plan, delegate, and multi-task.
- High Quality-focus.
- Strong, positive oral & written communication skills both internally & with customers.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken is a must.
- Full driving license.
