Position: Automation Operations Manager
Location: Hybrid - 1 day p/week South Coast, 4 days remote
Type: Permanent
Salary: £80-90K
We are looking for an experienced Automation Operations Manager to join a major organisation undergoing significant investment in automation, AI and digital transformation.
This is a senior operational leadership role within a newly established Process & Intelligent Automation function. You will take ownership of the reliability, performance and operational management of a growing automation and AI estate, while leading an external managed service team responsible for production support.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the operational performance, reliability and resilience of automation and AI platforms
- Lead and manage an external managed service provider against agreed SLAs
- Act as the senior escalation point for major incidents and drive effective incident, problem, change and release management
- Oversee platforms including Power Platform, RPA, Logic Apps, workflow automation and AI-enabled solutions
- Drive monitoring, service improvement, root-cause analysis and operational reporting
- Ensure services meet security, governance and compliance requirements
- Work closely with Architecture, Engineering and Platform teams across the technology lifecycle
- Shape and continuously improve the automation operations function as it scales

What we're looking for
- 10+ years' experience across IT operations, application support, automation operations or similar
- Strong experience managing production technology environments and outsourced/managed service providers
- Proven ownership of service performance, major incidents and operational delivery
- Strong ITSM knowledge, particularly incident, problem, change and release management
- Experience with automation platforms such as Power Platform, RPA, Logic Apps or equivalent
- Good understanding of Azure/cloud-based environments
- Strong stakeholder management and leadership skills
- Experience operating within complex, regulated or business-critical environments would be advantageous
