Broadcast Automation Specialist
Location: Onsite (London, UK)
Type: Contract + perm conversion
Start Date: ASAP
We're looking for a Broadcast Automation Specialist to join a leading broadcast and media organisation, supporting live production, newsroom and studio automation operations.
This is a key position focused on the execution of live and non-live programming within highly automated broadcast environments. You'll play a central role in coordinating control room activities, managing rundown-driven productions, and ensuring seamless delivery across editorial, production and technical teams.
What you'll do
- Direct and oversee live and pre-recorded programming using modern studio automation systems
- Lead control room operations, coordinating editorial, production and technical teams during broadcasts
- Prepare, review and adapt running orders in response to editorial and operational requirements
- Ensure the successful execution, presentation and continuity of programmes throughout transmission
- Collaborate closely with editorial and production stakeholders to deliver planned output
- Communicate effectively with presenters, studio crews and technical teams during live broadcasts
- Anticipate, troubleshoot and resolve production and technical issues in time-critical environments
- Support wider studio and floor operations when required
- Maintain established programme formats, automation workflows and operational standards

Skills & Experience
- Strong experience working within live broadcast, newsroom or studio production environments
- Hands-on experience with broadcast automation platforms such as Vizrt Mosart, Ross OverDrive or Sony ELC
- Strong understanding of newsroom systems and MOS-based workflows
- Experience operating within live, breaking-news or fast-turnaround production environments
- Knowledge of robotic camera systems, video servers and broadcast graphics platforms
- Experience supporting multi-platform newsroom and production operations
- Strong understanding of gallery, control room and live transmission workflows
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills under live operational conditions
- Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and technical teams during live output
