FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking an Automation Test Manager to work for our client within the retail sector.

This is initially a 12-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in London.

About the Role

Our client is seeking an Automation Test Manager to own the test strategy end to end for a major supply chain transformation programme, migrating forecasting, replenishment and allocation onto a new cloud-based planning platform and replacing legacy technology. The programme involves significant integration work across data, supply chain and logistics systems, and runs for approximately two years through to a phased go-live. There is no existing test team in place, so this is a genuine opportunity to define the test strategy, build the automation framework and shape the team from a standing start, while remaining hands-on technically.

Responsibilities

  • Define and own the end-to-end test strategy across the programme, covering entry and exit criteria, phases, coverage and release readiness
  • Design, build and maintain the automation framework and write the automation scripts, integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
  • Own the test environments process across the new planning platform and the shared warehouse management platform, including governing environment access and managing environment-related risk
  • Build and manage the test team from scratch, covering resourcing, onboarding and mentoring
  • Coordinate testing across multiple applications and integrations, managing defect resolution and release quality
  • Own test risk management and report on progress, coverage, quality and risk to programme stakeholders
  • Work closely with the end-to-end Test Manager and Supply Chain Test Manager to align with the wider test approach

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
