Position: Auto Electrician

Location: Caledonia Depot, 100 Cathcart Road, G42 7BH

Contracted Hours: 37 per week (full time & permanent + overtime available)

Working Hours: Dayshift and Nightshift roles available, both shift patterns include 1 in 3 weekends

Pay Rate: £21.54 per hour dayshift and £24.07 per hour nightshift + enhanced weekend rate - with further pay increase scheduled for April 2027

Salary: Approx. £41,442-£46,310 base salary per annum

About the Role - *£2000 NEW RECRUIT JOINING BONUS!!!

We are now looking for an NVQ/SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) qualified Auto Electrician for our First Bus Glasgow Caledonia Depot – we would love to hear from qualified candidates with great electrical knowledge and any ex-Forces personnel with an engineering apprenticeship qualification, and experienced engineers from other sectors looking for a change.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and carry out vehicle electrical repairs, servicing, and parts replacement
  • Diagnose vehicle electrical faults and specify the correct method of repair and parts to be used
  • Carry out vehicle road testing where necessary to identify specific vehicle defects or following remedial repair
  • To fully comply with all HSE legislation along with Group Policies
  • To fully comply with all relevant Standard Operating Procedures
  • Maintain and develop technical skills as required

About You

  • Do you have a minimum Level 3 NVQ/SVQ (or equivalent) qualification in vehicle maintenance and repair?
  • Ability to multi-skill within an Engineering Environment with preferably electrically biased experience
  • Do you have a valid UK driving license? A PCV licence is desirable, however not essential as we can help you achieve this
